AALF equals An absolute Linda favourite! :D
Please forgive my hiatus from blogging. I know it has been a while, but believe me, there have been a ton of images being shot and processed through the LingLing's kitchen - esp during this crazy wedding season. I am going to keep this short. But I will be updating this blog now and them with sneak peaks - so that those who don't follow my facebook page, can also enjoy what's going on in the LingLing image making kitchen.
I had the pleasure of shooting Nida and Vu a few months ago - which produced an absolute favourite of mine. I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding in a few short weeks time - I get to work with the amazing film masters of Papercranes :D
How can I ever complain when my job consists of hanging out with people, getting to know them and enjoying the sun?
A heap of sunshine,
Linda :D
P.S - If you haven't joined the facebook page, please do, as it will regularly update you with what's going on!! :D

Absolutely love this frame! Dave is a rockstar and Clarinda is a super awesome chicka!
The great thing about this job is that I get to meet lots of lovely faces. I met Clarinda a few years back, at a wedding I shot - she was one of the bride's maids. From the moment I met her, I knew that she was a blessing to the people around her and to her future husband. She had/has a great sense of humour and she was/is zealous about life and her faith. Admittedly, I wanted to set her up with one of my closest friends...
Clarinda met Dave at their church. They were both serving together at their youth group - SWITCH. And throughout the year they would co-incidentally meet up to have really deep and meaningful conversations - this was where they developed a close friendship. It was through these d&ms that Clarinda realised that Dave is a pretty "deep guy" and that in turn, Dave knew that Clarinda was somebody who he can commit his life to loving for the rest of his life. Despite their own personal circumstances - their mutual affections for one another and desires for commitment prevailed and their relationship blossomed.
They are a joy to hang out with; they are generous, friendly and passionate. They are both incredibly zealous for the things that they hold dear to their hearts. Individually they have quite strong personalities, but they are sooo well suited for one another. They are a great illustration of how iron sharpens iron.
Their wedding is quickly approaching and I have the honour of being able to document the beginning of their lives together. Can't wait!
It was lovely hanging out with you guys the other week!! We had a blast! David brought his beloved guitar and played quite a few songs for Clarinda - and by the look in her eyes, I could tell that she was absolutely smitten by his rock star qualities! :D :D

I couldn't choose between the first shot and this shot - both ALF!!!
Today has been quite a reflective day for me. It's amazing to remember how this business started off. I was still in uni, no stable income (only a dead end graphic design job), no equipment, no experience and no direction - I only had a burning desire to photograph people. But amazingly through the support of my family and friends, the business has grown. I took the risk and invested in equipment. Others took the risk and entrusted me with their photographs and memories - which still totally boggles my mind. After a few short months, I was able to pay off some loans (with the little I had) and was able to make a slow-but-steady income. In hindsight, I really feel like I haven't done much (and I have still lots to learn), but I am amazed by the encouragement, support and mentoring I've received over the years. It's really shown me how there is One who provides for His children and all I can do is to point back to Him. I have no idea where the next year will take me - I might be called Home, or the business might fall apart, I might want to change jobs - regardless, I am incredibly blessed to be where I am at now and by God's grace, I look forward to the journey ahead without fear (WOW! THIS IS INCREDIBLY DEEP).
Okay, before the music starts playing for me to get off "the stage" (think Oscars speeches), I am really thankful for everyone who has invested their time and encouragement to build me up.You guys are pretty awesome!! And I thank God for you guys!!!1!
Soli Deo gloria!!!!!1!

"Snuggle yo faces together!" :D
Helena and Phil are a cool and stylish people. There is no doubt about it. Helena fell in love with two gorgeous Pronovias gowns - and couldn't choose between the two, so she bought both! She wore one of them for the portrait session - and boy I can't wait to see her actual wedding dress! It was also through Helena that I discovered Viktor and Rolf's fragrane FLOWERBOMB. If only photography had smell-o-vision, because MYHAT, she smelt oh-so-good! I wanted to sniff her all day! But that would've proved very awkward!
They are an incredibly sweet and intelligent couple. Despite having been together for years, there is still that young and giddy affection that runs through the two of them; from Helena's giggles to Phil's sheepish grins when she cuddles him or nuzzles his face.
It was great hanging out with them a few months back. We had lots of fun discovering new places and doing all sorts of silly things - one of which consisted of throwing confetti everywhere. It was quite a challenge to pick everything back up again. But it was all in good fun and great photographs!
Thank you Helena + Phil for making my job, fantastic!

I heart confetti. Yes, it was a mess to clean up afterwards.
As the crazy wedding season quietens, the only obstacle now is this mountain of weddings/portrait sessions that are waiting to be processed in the Ling Ling image making kitchen. However, I am really looking forward to my break from shooting, so that I can re-energize myself and reassess my photographs, so that I can push myself further to creating the kind of photographs that reflect the direction that I want to take my photography. The kind of images that make people feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside - esp now that the colder season is looming over us.
However, far too often, I get caught up with comparing myself with other photographers who are producing stellar/consistent work. Consequently I often feel dry and lose sight of why I do what I do. So it's whenever I get lovely messages like these, it's a great reminder and encouragement for me to keep pursuing what I love to do.
"I wanted to tell you that I love your work. Me and Rach (friend) were chatting about it tonight - we often stalk you and feel so happy after. Your pictures make us smile!!!"
It's such a blessing to know that these images that I get to photograph are ones that make people smile! You may not even know who the couple are, but you can share in their love and joy... I want to share joy!
Thank you all for your never ending support! I am incredibly blessed. Truly.
